Like last year, laureates of the GSC 2011 will be given a chance by the Polish Enterpreneurs Foundation for financial aid from the POMERANUS SEED Seed Capital Fund, which invests up to 200 thousand Euro in new companies, and for interest among Business Angels. The Red Sky company will provide a global advertising campaign.

Arkadiusz Seńko - Chairman of the Red Sky Company:

What kind of ideas are you looking for in this edition of Global Startup Challenge?

We’re betting on brave and creative projects, which will have a chance for success both home and abroad. Like last year, we want to support people that are passionate, open-minded, who want to use the opportunity offered by the Internet, and who are determined to try and influence it’s development.

What have the participants of the previous edition gain?

The first edition has met with great interest, both in Poland and abroad. Teams that came to Szczecin could work with support from our best programmers. Regardless of who’s won, everyone learned really much. We’ve proved that there are plenty like-minded people, and that organizing a second edition of the Global Startup Challenge would be worthwhile.

The Global Startup Challenge has first been organized in 2010. The event’s goal is the emergence of, and technical, technological and financial aid for, the best IT projects. In 2010, four ideas received awards, and the solemn ending ball was attended by, among others, the Mayor of Szczecin Piotr Krzystek, Barbara Bartkowiak - Chairman of the Board of the Polish Enterpreneurs Foundation, Arkadiusz Seńko - Chairman of the Board of the Red Sky company, and many others from the business and regional institutions crowd. Further information on the first edition of the Global Startup Challenge can be found at www.globstar2010.com.

Why is the PEF getting involved in the Global Startup Challenge once again?

The Polish Enterpreneurs Foundation supports and invests, by design, in people who excel in knowledge, skill and determination to implement their business goals. Participation in the competition offers an opportuinty to work with high class specialists, use the experience of the very best from the Internet sector, and to enter an environment which actively invests and develops online projects. We’re continuing the initiative because the GSC 2010 was a success. The effect of last year’s edition was exactly what we aimed for - the emergence of unique people with great business ideas, with whom with continuously cooperate and co-develop the best projects - says Jacek Madej, the Chief Innovation Officer of the Polish Enterpreneurs Foundation.
